Music Video P1(a-f)
This is a music video of Paul McCartney. He made this video with participation of Hollywood stars and that's why it attracted a wide range of people. This video is very kind and it's pleasure to watch. This video maybe boring for teenagers because it doesn't include much actions or interesting shots. In my opinion, the idea of the video is attractive. Very seldom we can find as many hollywood stars as we can see in this video. But because of the lack of actions and editing someone may find this video quite boring.
Purpose:
It was made for potential audience pleasure and entertainment. Also it has been made to sell the music track.
Form:
Music promo
Content:
There are not many visual effects in the video. The colour of the shots didn't change during all the music video. They used normal lens but there are different camera shots and camera movement. The pace of the music video is quite slow. Shots didn't change fast. Only new people appear in the video but the location didn't change.
There wasn't any actions in the video. One singer Paul McCartney was singing during all the song and later more and more Hollywood stars appear in the video.
Actors wear casual clothes during all the video. But all of them looked lovely and attractive.
Genre:
Pop
Intended audience:
Audience might be all year ranges. But the target audience is potential audience of Paul McCartney and the"Beatles".

Music Video P1(a-f)
This is a music video of a famous sweden singer. His video was made like in the past times where people went to the masquerades and wear beautiful dresses. I think this is a good idea which makes video more brightfull and beautiful. It's different than other modern video. Also the end of the video is sad so it makes the video more dramatic and interesting. I think the video maybe longer because the story attract the audience and they want to know more about the characters. I find this video interesting.
Purpose:
Entertain. Also it has been made to sell the music track.
Form:
Music Promo
Content:
Video effects, different camera shots and angles, for example, medium close up shot at 1:50. But most of the shots were close up shots to show the emotions of the main characters and how they love each other.
The video is in a quite high pace. Shots change very quickly because the music is fast. The colour of the video is unusual that's why I think that they used some special visual effect to make audience feel that they are watching movie from 19 century.
the music video is made like a small movie with narrative. The actions happen in 19 century when there was forbidden love between people from different segments of population.
Genre:
Pop
Intended audience:
The Eric's target audience is teenagers 13-20 years old . However there are males who like his music they are also teenagers 13-16 years old as the research on the official Eric's website showed.

Connotation and denotation P1(a-f)
Denotation, on the other hand, refers to the literal or explicit meanings of words and other phenomena. For example, Barbie Doll denotes a toy doll, first marketed in 1959, that was originally 11.5 inches high, had measurements of 5.25 inches at the bust, 3.0 inches at the waist, and 4.25 inches at the hips. The connotations of Barbie Doll, in contrast, are the subject of some controversy. Some scholars have suggested that the arrival of the Barbie Doll signified the end of motherhood as a dominant role for women and the importance of consumer culture, because Barbie is a consumer who spends her time buying clothes and having relationships with Ken and other dolls. The Barbie Doll doesn’t prepare little girls for the traditional role of motherhood in the way other kinds of dolls do—allowing them to imitate their mothers in caring for their “children.”
Codes P1(a-f)
Codes can create feelings to the audience through effects and techniques, for example rain in a film and a woman looking upset can make the audience feel bad for the woman and be emotional.

Contingency plan:
Problems may be caused because of the bad weather conditions during shooting. As most of our scenes will be outside we have to check weather forecast and if it's raining we have to move our shootings to another day. We have three weeks to finish our music video. Also we may to move our shooting somewhere inside. For instance, in store of cafe but we have to ask the permission to shoot in a public place during the working day.
We may ask our teachers to help with our shooting schedule if something happens them may give as a time to shoot during supervise studies, for example.

Recce P2(e)
High Street Canterbury
Canterbury is a good place to shoot because of its peaceful locations and large number of citizen who we need for the crowd scene. Canterbury as a well known place for the tourists. Therefore our music video may be interesting for the international audience as they will recognise some places of the city.
Kent College Canterbury
We are going to shoot in our boarding school because the main character of our music video is a student. Our potential audience is teenagers who are studying in the boarding school as well that's why it would be interesting for them to watch the video.
Casual Clothes Style
Casual clothes will be more suitable for the teenagers who are just walking in town. Also it would be easier for the actors to dance in casual clothes.
Canterbury Dame John Garden
This park has a peaceful surroundings that's why it will be a beautiful and positive decoration for our music video.

Risk assessment P2(f)
Hazard
|
The risk details
|
How to minimize the risk
|
Weather conditions
|
The weather can also impact on the shooting process, especially if we plan to shoot outside. If it’s raining, all the equipment and crew would be wet
|
To check the weather forecast before filming, always have an umbrella and a bag for a camera
|
A lot of transport on the street
|
Transport can lead to serious accident
|
Need to remember about the traffic regulations and to be sure that others know them as well. To be careful in town
|
Crime on the street
|
We are going to shoot our film in town, where a lot of people are, including thieves. So there is possibility that someone can steal expensive equipment, i.e. camera.
|
To film in places where a lot of people are nearby in order to ask for help if something would go wrong.
|
Camera run out of battery while filming
|
If camera runs out during filming process, everything will be spoiled
|
Before filming we need to ensure that camera is fully charged and all the equipment work
|
Unsuitable clothes
|
Wearing unsuitable clothes for the weather can cause illnesses
|
Make sure all the actors are aware of weather conditions and what they need to wear for shooting process
|
Cast crew is not turning up
|
Cast crew or production crew may not visit the shooting process, that will lead to waste of time
|
Explain the cast crew how it’s important to visit filming process, remind them when and where filming will take place.
|
Damaged equipment
|
Someone can drop the camera
|
Be careful!!!

Legal and/or ethical issues: Email to Williams Pharrell P2(g)
We have written an e-mail to Pharrell Williams to ask to use his song "Happy" in our music video. We explained how we are going to use it and why but we haven't get reply from him.
We didn't use his video in order to make profit or to promote something. We posted our video to the official social network Youtube where there are a lot of different videos. Also we put a link of our music video on the blog where we are posting our course work.
We had to follow copyright law before the using song of other singer. Copyright is a legal concept that grants the creator of an original song exclusive rights to its use and promotion with the intention of enabling the creator of intellectual wealth to receive compensation for their work and be able to financially support themselves. That's why we were asking the permission to use song 'Happy'.
Relevant certification and/or scheduling P2(h)
The global music industry typically awards recordings with certification awards based on the total units sold, or shipped to the retailers. These awards and their requirements are defined by the various certifying bodies representing the music industry in various countries and territories worldwide. The standard certification awards given consist of Gold, Platinum, and sometimes Diamond awards, in ascending order; the UK also has a Silver certification, ranking below Gold. In most cases, a "Multi-Platinum" or "Multi-Diamond" award is given for multiples of the Platinum or Diamond requirements.
Requests for audio and music video certification may be made to the RIAA®. Companies must submit one copy of the audio or music video product upon certification request. The following information must also be made available:
Music Company
Music Label
Artist
Title
Configuration (single, shortform, album or music video)
Level (Gold®, Platinum® and/or Multi-Platinum™)
Selection or Catalog Number
Release Date
Billing Contact & Address
Here is the draft letter to the RIAA to certificate my music video. If I need to follow all the rules of the certification and get a right permission of the certification company for publishing my music video to some online networks.
Probably it would be good idea to put my music video to some popular resources where people can watch and estimate it. We have already put the video on the Youtube. I would like to show my music video on the MTV TV channel. This is a popular all over the world music resource.
Equipment P3(a)
Most of all we used the Canon 7D camera which has good quality. We wanted to achieve the best quality of our video as it possible to make our music video look like professional and attractive video to the target audience.
Once we used panasonic camera
because it was easier to shoot on it because of its light weight and lack of extra features. It was easier for us to use small camera while shooting in the town city centre because it was crowded around and it was more safety to use compact camera there.
All the time we were taking the special bag for carrying the equipment and to follow safe working practice to protect cameras and other equipment.
I chose the wide angle lens because I need a wide shots of the street or park to include all the people in the video.
