Contingency plan:
Problems may be caused because of the bad weather conditions during shooting. As most of our scenes will be outside we have to check weather forecast and if it's raining we have to move our shootings to another day. We have three weeks to finish our music video. Also we may to move our shooting somewhere inside. For instance, in store of cafe but we have to ask the permission to shoot in a public place during the working day.
We may ask our teachers to help with our shooting schedule if something happens them may give as a time to shoot during supervise studies, for example.

Recce P2(e)
High Street Canterbury
Canterbury is a good place to shoot because of its peaceful locations and large number of citizen who we need for the crowd scene. Canterbury as a well known place for the tourists. Therefore our music video may be interesting for the international audience as they will recognise some places of the city.
Kent College Canterbury
We are going to shoot in our boarding school because the main character of our music video is a student. Our potential audience is teenagers who are studying in the boarding school as well that's why it would be interesting for them to watch the video.
Casual Clothes Style
Casual clothes will be more suitable for the teenagers who are just walking in town. Also it would be easier for the actors to dance in casual clothes.
Canterbury Dame John Garden
This park has a peaceful surroundings that's why it will be a beautiful and positive decoration for our music video.

Risk assessment P2(f)
Hazard
|
The risk details
|
How to minimize the risk
|
Weather conditions
|
The weather can also impact on the shooting process, especially if we plan to shoot outside. If it’s raining, all the equipment and crew would be wet
|
To check the weather forecast before filming, always have an umbrella and a bag for a camera
|
A lot of transport on the street
|
Transport can lead to serious accident
|
Need to remember about the traffic regulations and to be sure that others know them as well. To be careful in town
|
Crime on the street
|
We are going to shoot our film in town, where a lot of people are, including thieves. So there is possibility that someone can steal expensive equipment, i.e. camera.
|
To film in places where a lot of people are nearby in order to ask for help if something would go wrong.
|
Camera run out of battery while filming
|
If camera runs out during filming process, everything will be spoiled
|
Before filming we need to ensure that camera is fully charged and all the equipment work
|
Unsuitable clothes
|
Wearing unsuitable clothes for the weather can cause illnesses
|
Make sure all the actors are aware of weather conditions and what they need to wear for shooting process
|
Cast crew is not turning up
|
Cast crew or production crew may not visit the shooting process, that will lead to waste of time
|
Explain the cast crew how it’s important to visit filming process, remind them when and where filming will take place.
|
Damaged equipment
|
Someone can drop the camera
|
Be careful!!!

Legal and/or ethical issues: Email to Williams Pharrell P2(g)
We have written an e-mail to Pharrell Williams to ask to use his song "Happy" in our music video. We explained how we are going to use it and why but we haven't get reply from him.
We didn't use his video in order to make profit or to promote something. We posted our video to the official social network Youtube where there are a lot of different videos. Also we put a link of our music video on the blog where we are posting our course work.
We had to follow copyright law before the using song of other singer. Copyright is a legal concept that grants the creator of an original song exclusive rights to its use and promotion with the intention of enabling the creator of intellectual wealth to receive compensation for their work and be able to financially support themselves. That's why we were asking the permission to use song 'Happy'.
Relevant certification and/or scheduling P2(h)
The global music industry typically awards recordings with certification awards based on the total units sold, or shipped to the retailers. These awards and their requirements are defined by the various certifying bodies representing the music industry in various countries and territories worldwide. The standard certification awards given consist of Gold, Platinum, and sometimes Diamond awards, in ascending order; the UK also has a Silver certification, ranking below Gold. In most cases, a "Multi-Platinum" or "Multi-Diamond" award is given for multiples of the Platinum or Diamond requirements.
Requests for audio and music video certification may be made to the RIAA®. Companies must submit one copy of the audio or music video product upon certification request. The following information must also be made available:
Music Company
Music Label
Artist
Title
Configuration (single, shortform, album or music video)
Level (Gold®, Platinum® and/or Multi-Platinum™)
Selection or Catalog Number
Release Date
Billing Contact & Address
Here is the draft letter to the RIAA to certificate my music video. If I need to follow all the rules of the certification and get a right permission of the certification company for publishing my music video to some online networks.
Probably it would be good idea to put my music video to some popular resources where people can watch and estimate it. We have already put the video on the Youtube. I would like to show my music video on the MTV TV channel. This is a popular all over the world music resource.
Equipment P3(a)
Most of all we used the Canon 7D camera which has good quality. We wanted to achieve the best quality of our video as it possible to make our music video look like professional and attractive video to the target audience.
Once we used panasonic camera
because it was easier to shoot on it because of its light weight and lack of extra features. It was easier for us to use small camera while shooting in the town city centre because it was crowded around and it was more safety to use compact camera there.
All the time we were taking the special bag for carrying the equipment and to follow safe working practice to protect cameras and other equipment.
I chose the wide angle lens because I need a wide shots of the street or park to include all the people in the video.

Following storyboard P3(b)
The main idea of our music video is to show how typical student can relax and have fun with her friends. We asked few students to dance on the street in the centre of Canterbury and they willingly agreed. This was fun experience to dance in front of public but people around loved it so much.
All the time we tried to follow the storyboard as much as it possible to shoot the high quality music video. And I think we did it quite well. Out music video meets the storyboard and the script fully.
We have done the shooting in the school main building, in the city centre and even in the park. We took as much people as it possible to dance right on the street in front of many people and I think we did it quite successful. We have made a positive music video which keeps up spirits.

Following safe working practices P3(c)
During production process we tried to use all safety aspects and extra equipment to make our music video as good and high quality as it possible without any hazards for equipment and us. To protect the equipment we used special bags and used it in a right way. Also few of us at the same time were looking for the equipment at the same time and we tried to carry it as carefully as it possible.
Once we have faced with the problem of bad weather conditions. Our equipment might be damaged because of the rain and wind. That's why we changed the day of our shooting and took this shot on the following day when it was sunny outside. The weather forecast didn't predict this weather and therefore we used our contingency plan.
We have faced with problem of bad weather condition once during our third day of shooting. And we used our contingency plan and took few shots inside the "Boots" shop in Canterbury.

Following production processes P3(d)
My main role in our music video was mostly in paper work such as making risk assessment and other documents. Also all of use were looking for safety using of the equipment and I helped to generate some ideas o attract more people to watch our video and make it more interesting for them. And all editing work I have done by myself with help of my media teacher.
We have faced with few problems during the production process. First of all few times we had to change our shooting days because of the bad weather. As it was just start of the spring it was so rainy everyday. We didn't want to damage the equipment therefore we changed days. Also, the song "happy" is positive therefore we wanted to shoot during sunny days to meet the meaning of the song and to attract audience by doing positive and bright video.
We followed the storyboard all the time but later we realised that we didn't have enough materials to meet the length of the song 'happy' that's why we have added few more characters by the end of the video and new locations but the meaning of the video hasn't been changed.
We have added shots in the "Boots" store where girls were laughing and wearing jewellers. We chose to shoot inside mostly because of bad weather conditions and we didn't want weather to affect the quality of our music video.
By the end of the music video we decided to make a shot where main character who was dancing during all video wakes up. We had many shots where our characters are wearing different clothes because of bad weather conditions therefore we made the whole video as a one dream to meet the difference in costumes and locations.

Screenshots of the production process P4(a-d)
I used a Premium Pro program to edit my music video. It has options to add a visual and sound effect to the video and it allows to make an interesting video which will attract the potential audience to watch my music video.
I have used few visual effects to make my music video brighter and more colourful. I did it because we were shooting in a cloudy weather and it was dark outside. As our song is "happy" and it's positive therefore I had to make the video brighter.
I put some inscription in my music video with the name of the song and production. I used bright letters to make my video eye-cathing. I chose yellow colour because it associates with good mood and positive 'Happy" song.
Few times I used Cross Dissolve. It allows us to see a bright glare which is useful when the shots change.
We have shoot a lot of small videos and later on I made a one music video from them.
I changed the volume of the sound in some videos to make it better to sound when I put my videos together with the song.
I renamed all the videos to make the process of the editing easier. I had a lot of small video that's why the renaming of them was vital otherwise I could just be confused with them.
This is the example of some visual effects. This effect helped me to make a transition from one shot to another.
One more inscription. It's also bright and eye-catching.
This is how my worked place looked like.
I changed the level of the sound in my initial video because I had to paste the original song in it that's why I deleted all inappropriate sounds.

This is the line of controlling the sound level in the chosen video.

Logging rushes and creating an edit decision list P4(a)
The process of naming of the videos also helps to organised the production plan and the schedule which related to the storyboard.
For example, this shot was called 'main character wakes up'. The name of the shot meet the actual action and helps me to put the actual video in the right order on my timeline.
